About

Welcome.  I am a psychotherapist and counsellor based in Cork City. I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy from Middlesex University and PCI College and am a fully accredited member of the Irish Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP). I have experience both as a working therapist and as a client and I understand that it can be challenging to make the first step to start your personal journey in psychotherapy. Let me explain how I work and what you can expect from our session together.

In my psychotherapy sessions I create an open and safe space where clients can navigate their personal struggles, their motivations, emotions and behaviours. Each session will explore topics that the client brings and we will discuss these issues blending elements of psychotherapy and counselling theory and interventions such as CBT, psychodynamic and exisitential therapy. There is no one-size-fits-all approach to therapy. As we build a therapeutic relationship together the client will inform the approach and technique that works best for them when working through their own personal challenges.

I have worked with clients experiencing depression, anxiety, relationship issues, low self-esteem, sexuality issues, addiction among other concerns impacting their mental health and well being. In truth, we all experience challenging emotions, behaviours and events throughout the course of our lives. Psychotherapy is an effective way to explore, process and make peace with the complexities of the lived experience.

In my personal view, allowing yourself a space dedicated to self-exploration and understanding is a true act of resilience and courage. I understand that those coming to psychotherapy may find the notion daunting, I aim to ensure you are listened to in a non-judgemental and supportive manner in every session.
